Hello All,
I've made it to Alaska in one piece after a flight to Seattle from Newark, a brief late-night layover, and a flight on to Anchorage. My mind was substantially blown when I looked out the window as we flew from Seattle to Anchorage and I saw the dead of night lighten. When I landed at 2:30 AM in Anchorage, the only thing keeping the early morning so dark were the clouds. To make things even weirder, just two days ago I was sitting on the beach at the Jersey Shore in my bathing suit, and yesterday I was in my jacket reaching out to touch the ice of the Portage Glacier, south of Anchorage!
As for living arrangements, I'm staying with someone from the REAP office for about 2 weeks, then house sitting for a friend of my boss for the remainder of the summer - I really lucked out! (Also, I'll be taking care of a husky mix!)
Today is my first day at REAP.
